9 Things That Went Unnoticed About The Lost Boys
Making vampires trendy for more than 30 years, The Lost Boys could be our most favorite film of the entire 80s, and we all know we are not alone! Below are 9 things you may not have realized about this brilliant horror comedy which premiered all of the ways back in 1987…
1. Its Title Is Influenced By Peter Pan
‘The Lost Boys’ a is reference to the Lost Boys in J. M. Barrie’s Peter Pan, who, like the vampires in this film, never grew up.
2. It Was Originally More Like The Goonies
The movie’s script was initially made to be much like 1985’s The Goonies, including 13 or 14-year-old vampires, the Frog brothers as”chubby 8-year-old cub scouts” and Star as a young boy. Director Joel Schumacher had distinct thoughts however and hired an extra screenwriter to produce the movie’sexier’ and’more grownup’.
3. Its Director Claims It Has One Of The Best Casts Of All Time
Director Joel Schumacher has said that he had: “one of the greatest [casts] in the world” at his disposal, going on to say that “they are what make the film.”
4. It Influenced How We Perceive Vampires
The Lost Boys was credited with bringing a sexy and young allure to the vampire genre, inspiring following films like ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ (that was an ordinary movie before it had been turned into a successful TV series), in addition to much later offerings such as the Twilight saga.
5. It Turned Corey Haim and Corey Feldman Into Best Friends
Corey Haim and Corey Feldman become amazingly close friends through time, but the Lost Boys was the first of several movies they starred in together.
6. There’s A Reason David Wears Gloves
Kiefer Sutherland’s David wears black gloves not simply to seem cool, but more so he can conceal a broken wrist, an injury that he sustained whilst doing tricks on a motorbike during a break in filming
7. Their Contact Lenses Were Incredibly Painful
The contact lenses that the celebrities wore for their vampire transformations were so horrific and painful that they could wear them for a couple of seconds at a time. In reality, David almost captures Sam prior to being burnt by a ray of sun, the tear trickling down Kiefer Sutherland’s toenails is real and due to the lenses!
8. There Were Two Sequels
Were you aware there were two sequels to the movie? They could have passed by viewing as they went directly to movie, but in the event you’re trying to track them down, then they are known as ‘Lost Boys: ‘ The Tribe’ and ‘Lost Boys: The Thirst,’ and see Corey Feldman coming to his function as Edgar Frog.
9. There Was Almost ‘The Lost Girls’
After the success of the original film, plans were put in place to make a sequel called ‘The Lost Girls.’ This would have been set two years later and David would have returned as the villain, but sadly (or gladly?) it never came to fruition.
