Oscar Mayer Is Now Accepting Applications For Wienermobile Drivers
If it was ever a childhood fantasy to drive the Wienermobile much like it was mine, and you presently don’t have any work-related or familial obligations that could keep you from eventually attaining that dream, Oscar Mayer has a proposal for you.
The Kraft Heinz-owned company recently announced that it will be taking applications for its next fleet of Wienermobile “hotdoggers” – aka drivers – through the end of the month.
“We are currently accepting resumes through January 31st for a one-year position beginning in June,” reads an announcement posted online.
With the job, you have to do more than just drive the car around. Acording to the application for the job “hotdoggers” you will be tasked with being your “own traveling public relations firm, organizing promotions and pitching TV, radio and print media,” presumably with the prospect of learning more about America’s favorite hot dog-shaped car.
Applicants should also have a BA or BS, “preferably in public relations, journalism, communications, advertising or marketing.” Bilinguality is said to be a plus, as well.
If you land this amazing job then the company promises to provide a competitive salary and a “company car guaranteed to turn heads.”
Past years’ versions of this program had stated the task of “hotdogger” was earmarked exclusively for graduating college students, although no stipulation seems to exist about the recent posting. Oscar Mayer also did not specify the number of “hotdoggers” it’d be hiring, even though it does state on its own site there are now six Wienermobiles traveling the nation” in any particular time.”
A representative for Oscar Mayer was not immediately available to comment.
In related news, anyone whose childhood wish was to instead actually be an Oscar Mayer wiener will apparently still need to hope for science to catch up to that one.
